Questions

What is Crit Ledger?

A free tracker for watching Critical Role. It remembers which episodes you’ve seen and where you stopped in each, plays them from Critical Role’s own YouTube channel, and can skip the breaks for you. It’s a fan project: not made, approved or endorsed by Critical Role.

Do I need an account?

No. Press “Start watching” (or open any episode) and a guest account starts in this browser, so you can begin straight away. Sign in with Google or Discord to keep your place on every device; whatever you tracked as a guest moves into your account. Guest progress lives only in that browser, so clearing cookies loses it.

Does watching here still support Critical Role?

Episodes play in YouTube’s own player from Critical Role’s channel, so views and ads count for them just as on YouTube.

Why does an episode jump back to the start of the show when I resume it?

That’s the SponsorBlock browser extension. It also runs inside embedded videos: as the player loads, it briefly sees the video at 0:00, decides you’re in the intro, and skips you to the end of it, overriding your saved place. Turn the extension off for this site (or turn off its option to work on embedded videos). You don’t lose anything: Crit Ledger already skips the same stretches using SponsorBlock’s data, if you turn on auto-skip.

How does skipping the breaks work?

Skip times come from SponsorBlock, a community project that marks the announcements, sponsor reads and the mid-show break. While one is playing a Skip button appears under the video; turn on auto-skip in Settings to have it done for you. Some older or newer episodes may not be marked yet.

What do spoiler settings hide?

With spoilers hidden, episodes you haven’t started show only their number: no title, thumbnail or description. Once you start an episode its details appear. Change it any time in Settings.

What are moments?

A timeline of the notable scenes in an episode, with a timestamp you can jump to. While you watch, only the moments up to where you’ve got are shown. They’re written with the help of AI from each episode’s captions, so the odd one may be wrong or mistimed; please use Report a problem on the episode if you spot one.

Which order should I watch in?

Release order is the order episodes aired. In-world chronology follows the story’s own timeline, which places some one-shots and miniseries between campaign episodes. Pick either in Settings; your progress is the same either way.

Where’s Campaign 4?

It isn’t on the site yet.

Where does the episode information come from?

Titles, air dates and arcs from the Critical Role Wiki; character sheets from CritRoleStats, whose fans compiled them from the shows; monster details from the D&D System Reference Document. Full credits are here. Something wrong? The episode’s Report a problem link sends it straight here.

Is it free? Are there ads?

Free, with no ads of its own. The only ads are the ones YouTube shows in the player, as on YouTube.

How do I delete my data?

Settings has a button that deletes your account and everything you’ve tracked, immediately. The privacy policy has the details of what’s kept.
